![]() Leftover jelly roll strips were used as the border and the binding. The animals were cut from a fabric panel purchased years ago. There are Chinese Zodiac animals appliqued in the beige area between each lantern. They also work well for Log Cabin quilts. Jelly rolls are a quick and easy way to do strip quilting. There are twelve Chinese lanterns, made using the jelly roll fabric, and the blue squares (not part of the jelly roll) are actually the center of a Courthouse Steps block. I used the entire jelly roll for the quilt top, plus a beige background print cut in 2.5″ strips. The quilt is layered over a Pottery Barn voile quilt, and paired with white matlise pillow shams. ![]() ![]() The fabric line was designed for Moda by Joanna Figeuroa, and the quilt size is 68″x80″, which covers the top of a king size bed. This is a Chinese Lantern quilt made from an older jelly roll of fabric called Folkloric.
